About Tammo
I started photography in earnest when I saw a fellow scuba diver using a digital camera with underwater housing back in 2004. I discovered pretty fast that I needed to study the basics above water before I will be able to take good pictures under water. Therefore I got myself my first DSLR and by now I take more pictures above water than below (also due to the fact that I am a "warm-water-diver" and there aren't very many places to dive in warm water near Munich, Bavaria).
I am mainly interested in nature photography, using mostly Canon equipment at the moment. Underwater I used a compact camera (Canon G10) with an aluminium housing and an Inon strobe for a long time, mostly because of the very costly underwater housings vor DSLRs.
In 2018 I switched to an Olympus E-M1 (Mark I) mirrorless camera with a Nauticam Housing and two Inon Strobes for underwater photography.
I give private lessons in Photography Basics as well as Macro- & Nature Photography in english and german.
